Ras yr Iaith - Race for the language!- Course pour la langue galloise 2016

Ras yr Iaith - Race for the language!

06 July 2016 - 8/7/16

Ras yr Iaith was held in 2014 for the first time, a fun run, non-competitive race for the language, visiting 9 towns (between Machynlleth and Cardigan), which attracted over 1000 participants and raised over £4000 for local causes to support the language.

We are pleased to inform you that the race will return on 6, 7 and 8 July this year, and by working closely with local organizations, including your local Menter, Menter Iaith Cered, we plan to expand and develop Rasyr Iaith significantly, running through at least 20 locations over 3 days, between Bangor and Llandeilo.

Race to celebrate the Welsh language, Welsh identity and community, and have lots of fun fun in the process.

With the primary aim of celebrating language and increase pride in it, the race also raises money to promote Welsh locally by inviting groups, clubs and local schools to sponsor kilometers. In 2014 it distributed grants worth over £4000 to support local causes after the race. We plan to raise even more money by extending and developing the race, and to keep the race will be as open as possible to sponsor the cost of each kilometer will remain the same as 2014, which is £50. For this you can run km (or more) and there is no maximum on the number of individuals can run.

We really hope you will join us this year, and share the experience of running a great celebration of our language.
